They should not be confused with the low-cost cardboard / plastic calculators that were often issued by manufacturers as promotional products.

Mears Calculators are constructed of the highest quality and are precision-made from non-warping white and clear acrylic, with main dials 3mm (1/8") thick and subsidiary dials 1.5mm thick. All scales and lettering are clearly and sharply engraved (not printed) and are filled in multi colours to facilitate use.
